Corporate Tax Registration in the UAE
Register your mainland or free zone company for UAE Corporate Tax with the Federal Tax Authority — correctly, and ahead of your deadline.
01The challenge
UAE Corporate Tax applies to financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023. Almost every business must register with the FTA — even those that will pay 0% — and each licence carries its own registration deadline. Missing it brings administrative penalties.
02What UAE law requires
Corporate Tax is administered by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA):
- Registration is mandatory for taxable persons — mainland and free zone — and is completed through EmaraTax.
- Registration deadlines are set by your licence issue date; even businesses in the 0% band must register.
- The FTA issues a Corporate Tax registration number once approved.
- Qualifying Free Zone Persons must still register, even where they benefit from a 0% rate on qualifying income.
Registration rules and deadlines per the UAE Federal Tax Authority (tax.gov.ae).
